In this article we will show you how to use OfferingTree's newsletter feature. Newsletters are mass emails to either all or a subset of your clients. To access this feature, go to the "Email Marketing" section of your admin site and press on the "Newsletter" tab.
You can create a newsletter by pressing on the "Create Newsletter" button. This brings up a new page with a form. The first thing to do is to select the recipients of the newsletter. By default, all your contacts who have not opted out of the newsletter are selected. You can narrow the recipient list by choosing tags to include or exclude. Tags are automatically created by your clients when they register for things, purchase things, etc. You can narrow down to your contacts who have registered for a single Offering, for example, or have purchased a particular store item.
Next, select the date and time you want the newsletter to be sent. Also fill in the subject line.
The email content (body) uses the same website builder technology as the page builder. You can add blocks, rearrange them, edit and delete them. Email doesn't support as rich a set of html as the web, so a subset of available blocks is provided for email content, like text, images, and buttons.
There are two previews available, one for the desktop email client and one for mobile email client. The preview provides a realistic view on how your emails will look on both form factors as you are composing them.
You can personalize the email, like adding someone's first name, by using special strings. Click on the "Personalize Email" help popup for the strings you can use.
Click the "Plus" button to add blocks to the email. Please see our page builder help articles to learn how to add and customize blocks.
You can add attachments to the email if you desire. Drag files in or click on the attachments blocks.
You can preview the email by pressing the preview button and then entering an email address to which the test newsletter will be sent immediately. You can save the newsletter as a draft to work on later or you can schedule it for sending.
