When OfferingTree sends emails to your clients—such as registration confirmations, purchase receipts, or newsletters—the sender information depends on your settings and whether you have a custom email domain configured.
1. The "From" Address (What clients see first)
This depends entirely on whether you have set up a Custom Email Domain.
If you have a Custom Domain: The email will appear to come directly from you (e.g.,
hello@yourstudio.com).If you do NOT have a Custom Domain: The email comes from our system address:
notify@messages.offeringtree.com. However, the "Friendly Name" will still show your business name so clients recognize you!
2. The "Hide My Email" Option
In your Email Settings, you’ll see a checkbox labeled "Hide my email." This acts as a privacy shield for your personal or business inbox.
When Checked (Hidden): Your direct email address stays private. If a client hits "Reply," the message is forwarded through OfferingTree to you. This keeps your personal address off the client's screen.
When Unchecked: Your email address is visible. When a client hits "Reply," the message goes directly to your inbox without any middleman.
3. Where do replies go? (The "Reply-To" Logic)
When a client hits the reply button, the system decides where to send that message based on two things:
Your Custom Domain: If you have verified your own domain, replies will always go to that custom email address.
Your Profile Email: If you aren't using a custom domain, replies go to the email address listed in your Business Owner Profile.
Quick Summary
| If you use... | The "From" address is... | If "Hide My Email" is ON | If "Hide My Email" is OFF |

Why use a Custom Domain?
Setting up a custom email domain allows emails to appear as if they are coming directly from your own domain (e.g., info@yourstudio.com) rather than notify@messages.offeringtree.com. This builds brand trust and helps prevent your emails from landing in spam folders.
