Use Your Existing SiteGround Domain For Your OfferingTree Site

Connect your SiteGround domain to your OfferingTree site by updating your domain's DNS settings. This allows you to maintain ownership of your domain and continue to renew it directly through SiteGround. You will continue to be responsible for paying for your domain through SiteGround.

Here's how:

1. Log in to SiteGround: Go to SiteGround.com and log in to your account.

2. Go to Site Tools (or cPanel for older accounts): SiteGround uses its own control panel called "Site Tools" for newer accounts. Older accounts might still use cPanel. Navigate to the appropriate control panel for your account.

3. DNS Zone Editor (Site Tools): If you're using Site Tools, look for "DNS Zone Editor" under the "Site" section.

4. DNS Zone Editor (cPanel - Older Accounts): If you're using cPanel, find the "Domains" or "DNS" section. Look for an icon or link labeled "Zone Editor," "DNS Zone Editor," or similar.

5. Select Your Domain: Choose the domain you want to connect to OfferingTree from the dropdown menu (if applicable).

6. Add/Edit DNS Records: You'll need to add or edit two records:

   • WWW CNAME Record:

     • If a CNAME record for "www" exists: Find it and edit it.
     • If a CNAME record for "www" doesn't exist: Add a new record.
     • Type: CNAME
     • Name/Host: www
     • Value/Points to/Target: customdomains.offeringtree.com

   • @ A Record (for your root domain):

     • If an A record for "@" or your root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) exists: Find it and edit it.
     • If an A record for "@" or your root domain doesn't exist: Add a new record.
     • Type: A
     • Name/Host: @ (or your root domain)
     • Value/Points to/IP Address: 35.209.110.2

7. Save Changes: Save the changes you've made to the DNS records.

8. Contact OfferingTree: Email us at support@offeringtree.com to let us know you've completed these steps. We'll then finalize the connection on our end. Please allow up to 24 hours for the DNS changes to propagate.

Important Notes for SiteGround:

• Site Tools vs. cPanel: SiteGround's interface has evolved. The instructions are similar whether you are using Site Tools or cPanel but the navigation is different. Be sure to use the instructions that match your account.
• Propagation: After saving your DNS changes, it can take some time for them to propagate across the internet. Be patient.
• Contact OfferingTree: It's essential to contact OfferingTree after making the DNS changes so we can complete the setup.
• Support: If you have any trouble, contact SiteGround's customer support for assistance. They are the best resource for questions about their specific interface.
• Root Domain: The "@" symbol often represents your root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com). Some providers might use a different way to indicate the root domain, so check their documentation or contact support if you're not sure.
