Connect your Domeneshop domain to your OfferingTree site by updating your domain's DNS settings. This allows you to maintain ownership of your domain and continue to renew it directly through Domeneshop. You will continue to be responsible for paying for your domain through Domeneshop.
Here's how:
-
Log in to Domeneshop: Go to www.domeneshop.no and log in to your account.
-
Select Your Domain: Choose the domain you want to connect to OfferingTree.
-
Navigate to DNS Settings: Look for a section called "DNS," "DNS-innstillinger," "DNS records," or similar. The exact wording might vary slightly.
-
Add/Edit Records: You'll likely see a list of existing DNS records. You'll need to add or edit two records:
-
WWW CNAME Record:
- If a CNAME record for "www" exists: Find it and edit it.
- If a CNAME record for "www" doesn't exist: Add a new record.
- Type:
CNAME
- Host/Navn:
www
- Value/Verdi/Peker til:
customdomains.offeringtree.com
-
@ A Record (for your root domain):
- If an A record for "@" or your root domain exists: Find it and edit it.
- If an A record for "@" or your root domain doesn't exist: Add a new record.
- Type:
A
- Host/Navn:
@
(or your root domain, e.g.,yourdomain.no
) - Value/Verdi/Peker til:
35.209.110.2
-
-
Save Changes: Save the changes you've made to the DNS records.
-
Contact OfferingTree: Email us at support@offeringtree.com to let us know you've completed these steps. We'll then finalize the connection on our end. Please allow up to 24 hours for the DNS changes to propagate.
Important Notes for Domeneshop:
- Language: Domeneshop's interface might be in Norwegian. The terms used above are translations of common DNS terms. If you're unsure, use Domeneshop's help resources.
- Propagation: After saving your DNS changes, it can take some time for them to propagate across the internet. Be patient.
- Contact OfferingTree: It's essential to contact OfferingTree after making the DNS changes so we can complete the setup.
- Support: If you have any trouble, contact Domeneshop's customer support for assistance. They are the best resource for questions about their specific interface. Look for their "Hjelp" or "Kundeservice" section.
-
Root Domain: The "@" symbol often represents your root domain (e.g.,
yourdomain.no
). Some providers might use a different way to indicate the root domain, so check their documentation or contact support if you're not sure.
