Use your existing IONOS domain on OfferingTree

Connect your IONOS domain to your OfferingTree site by updating your domain's DNS settings. This allows you to maintain ownership of your domain and continue to renew it directly through IONOS. You will continue to be responsible for paying for your domain through IONOS.

Here's how:

1. Log in to IONOS: Go to ionos.com and log in to your account.

2. Select Your Domain: Go to the "Domains" section and select the domain you want to connect to OfferingTree.

3. Manage DNS: Look for a section called "DNS," "DNS settings," "DNS Management," or similar. Click on it.

4. Add/Edit DNS Records: You'll need to add or edit two records:

   • WWW CNAME Record:

     • If a CNAME record for "www" exists: Find it and edit it.
     • If a CNAME record for "www" doesn't exist: Add a new record.
     • Type: CNAME
     • Name/Host: www
     • Value/Points to/Target: customdomains.offeringtree.com

   • @ A Record (for your root domain):

     • If an A record for "@" or your root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) exists: Find it and edit it.
     • If an A record for "@" or your root domain doesn't exist: Add a new record.
     • Type: A
     • Name/Host: @ (or your root domain)
     • Value/Points to/IP Address: 35.209.110.2

5. Save Changes: Save the changes you've made to the DNS records.

6. Contact OfferingTree: Email us at support@offeringtree.com to let us know you've completed these steps. We'll then finalize the connection on our end. Please allow up to 24 hours for the DNS changes to propagate.

Important Notes for IONOS:

• IONOS Interface: IONOS's interface can sometimes be a bit different from other providers. If you have trouble finding the correct settings, consult their help documentation or contact their support.
• Propagation: After saving your DNS changes, it can take some time for them to propagate across the internet. Be patient.
• Contact OfferingTree: It's essential to contact OfferingTree after making the DNS changes so we can complete the setup.
• Support: If you have any trouble, contact IONOS's customer support for assistance. They are the best resource for questions about their specific interface.
• Root Domain: The "@" symbol often represents your root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com). IONOS might have specific instructions or recommendations for handling the root domain, so check their documentation or contact support if you're not sure. IONOS may also refer to the root domain as the "naked domain".
