It is inevitable that one of your clients' credit cards will have a failed payment some time in the future. OfferingTree has rules in how it handles this.
- When a credit card payment fails, the system will try to charge the card again in the future. It keeps trying to charge the card, but does so at increasingly longer time between retries
- When the customer updates their credit card, the system immediately retries the overdue payment
- Upon failed payment, the membership is not usable. It cannot be used to book offerings. It cannot be paused, but it can be canceled.
- When the overdue payment is made, the membership becomes usable again. The payment schedule renews from the most recent billing cycle. If the payment is overdue for multiple billing periods, we will only collect payment for the most recent billing cycle
