Customer Segments is a powerful feature that allows you to segment your customers based on actions that they have performed. We pre-build several segments for you, but you are free to build your own using the tools that we have provided.
Build or Edit a Customer Segment
To create a new segment, first click the "Create Customer Segment" and then build out a query.
For example, if you want to see the customers who have attended one of your classes in the last month (number of event/series registrations is greater than 0), but do not have an active package or membership (number of active packages and memberships is 0), your query would look something like this:
View Contacts in a Segment
Once you have built out your segment, you can click the "View Contacts" to see the contacts in the segment. You can also filter by this segment from the "Contacts" page.
Send Newsletters to Contacts in a Segment
Once you have selected a segment in the contacts page, click the "Send Newsletter" button to star composing a newsletter to this segment. You can also select a contact segment from the "Create a Newsletter" page.
Trigger Automations Based on Customer Segments
Once you've defined a customer segment, you can set up an automation to trigger when contacts either enter or exit that segment. For instance, to send an email sequence to customers who recently participated but don't have an active package or membership, you'd create an automation triggered by contacts 'Entering' the 'Recent Participants without an active package or membership' segment. This way, anyone meeting these criteria automatically starts the email sequence, encouraging them to purchase a package or membership.
