Understanding the Three Layers of Time Zones

OfferingTree uses a tiered approach to time zones to keep your schedule accurate across different contexts:

1. Business Time Zone (The Default): The core "source of truth" for your account is tied to the primary account holder’s profile. This setting dictates the default timing for your business operations and administrative settings.

2. Staff "Viewing Time Zone": Staff members can customize how they view the schedule without affecting the rest of the team. This is ideal for practitioners who travel or live in a different region than the business owner.

3. Client Time Zone:

   • In-Person Events: If an event has a physical location assigned, clients will see the time in that location’s specific time zone.
     

   • Online/No Location Events: For virtual offerings, the time defaults to the Business Time Zone (the account holder's profile setting).

   • Automated Detection: OfferingTree intelligently detects the client's time zone via their web browser to display appointments in their local time.
     

How to Change Your Viewing Time Zone

If you are a staff member and need to see the calendar in your current local time, follow these quick steps:

1. Look at the bottom left corner of your OfferingTree dashboard. You will see a label for Viewing Time Zone.

2. Click on the current time zone to open the selection menu and choose your preferred time zone.

3. Once selected, the page will refresh automatically. Your dashboard, schedule, and appointments will now be displayed in your newly selected time.

Note: Changing your Viewing Time Zone only affects your personal view. It does not change the time zone for your clients or other staff members, ensuring your business operations remain consistent for everyone else.
