You can choose from a few different options for the cancellation refund policy for your events, event series, and appointment bookings. This can be managed from the "Cancellation Settings" section on your "Business Settings".
By default, the cancellation refund policy is set to "Do not refund when clients cancel." With this policy, if a client cancels, they will not receive an automatic refund. They will need to contact you directly to request a refund, and the decision to issue a refund will be at your discretion. However, clients can always cancel their registrations themselves. Your policy controls whether they get a refund.
If you wish to automate refunds for client cancellations, you have the following options:

Provide a refund when clients cancel: You can set a specific cancellation refund window in hours. If a client cancels their registration within this timeframe (e.g., 12 hours) before the event or appointment, they will automatically receive a refund. You can apply this policy to all registrations. When a client cancels a registration made with a credit card, you can choose to either:

Refund the payment back to their credit card.
- Provide the refund as account credit.

Only registrations made with a membership/package get a refund: With this option, clients who registered using a membership or package will receive an automatic refund if they cancel within the cancellation refund window. For registrations made using a credit card, they will need to contact you directly for a refund.
Importantly, you have the flexibility to override this default refund policy for specific individual events, event series, and appointments. This allows you to customize the cancellation and refund rules on a case-by-case basis.
Once you configure your default cancellation policy, it will be applied across your events and appointments unless you specify otherwise. The applicable cancellation policy will be clearly displayed within the details of each event and appointment. Furthermore, the relevant cancellation policy will be included in the registration confirmation emails that are automatically sent to individuals when they sign up for your event or book an appointment.
