Selling and Issuing Gift Cards through the Point-of-Sale

Steps to Sell or Issue a Gift Card:

1. Access the Point of Sale (POS) Screen:

   • Begin by navigating to your POS screen.
   • Select the customer you wish to sell or issue the gift card to. In the video example, the customer is "Charlie Smith".

2. Navigate to the Gift Card Section:

   • Locate and select the "Gift Card" section within the POS interface.
   • Choose the specific gift card product you have created.

3. Set the Gift Card Value:

   • You will be presented with options to set the gift card's value.
   • Pre-selected Amounts: Choose from pre-defined denominations if available.
   • Custom Amounts: Enter a custom value if needed. (e.g., $250).

4. Adjust the Price (If Applicable):

   • Discounted Price: If you want to sell the gift card at a discounted price, manually adjust the price to the desired amount. (e.g., Selling a $250 gift card for $150).
   • Free Gift Card: To issue a free gift card, change the price to $0. The subtotal will also become $0.

5. Process Payment (For Paid Gift Cards):

   • If you are selling the gift card (not issuing it for free), proceed to process the payment.
   • Select the customer's preferred payment method (e.g., credit card).
   • Complete the payment transaction.

6. Complete the Transaction (For all Gift Cards):

   • Once the payment is processed(if applicable), or the price is set to zero, complete the transaction through your POS.

7. Gift Card Delivery and Account Integration:

   • The customer will receive an email containing the gift card code.
   • The gift card will also be automatically added to the customer's account.
   • When the customer logs in, the gift card will be available as a payment method.

Using Gift Cards:

Customers can use their gift cards as a payment method for:

• Class registrations.
• Package purchases.
• Membership payments.
