How to use the Point of Sale feature

When running a studio, there is a need to collect credit card payments on-site. Even for virtual studios, sometimes clients need help using your website to purchase your offerings and ask that you do the purchase on their behalf. For these cases OfferingTree's point-of-sale system is perfect.

The Point of Sale feature has an integration with Stripe's wireless credit card terminal (see this article for more information). This makes taking in-person payments really easy. All funds flow through your OfferingTree to your linked Stripe account. All the payments are accounted for in OfferingTree's many reports. If you do not want to acquire the Stripe terminal reader, the Point of Sale feature is still very useful because you can enter a client's credit card and it will be saved for future purchases. This makes purchasing your offerings on behalf of your customers very easy.

To use the Point of Sale system, go to the Point of Sale menu item on your OfferingTree admin site. Purchasing is a three-step process. Step 1 is to search for an existing client or you can enter the name and email address of a brand-new client.

Next, pick an offering that you want to purchase on behalf of the client. You have five tabs with five possible offerings you can sell with OfferingTree.

1. Events - the scheduled offerings on your schedule page
2. Store Items - your video, courses, and physical goods
3. Memberships
4. Packages
5. Appointments

Each offering has options to help you narrow down, search, and find the specific offering to purchase. Click "NEXT" when done.

Finally, on the third screen, you can select the payment method. For events and store items, you can choose to pay with the client's memberships and packages. For memberships and packages, you only have the options to pay with a credit card. If you have the Stripe terminal reader, you can use it to accept the credit card with a simple tap of the card to the reader. If you don't have the Stripe terminal reader, you will be able to type in the credit card info or use a stored credit card (coming soon!).
