Ask Sprout is your AI business assistant inside OfferingTree. Ask a question in plain language about your revenue, clients, attendance, memberships, or offerings, and Sprout pulls the answer directly from your data — with charts and tables when they help.
What you can ask
Ask Sprout is designed for questions about your business data. Some examples:
- Revenue: "How much revenue did I make last month vs. last year?" or "What's my top-grossing offering this quarter?"
- Clients: "Who hasn't booked in 30 days?" or "How many new clients signed up in March?"
- Attendance: "Which classes have the highest fill rate?" or "What's my no-show rate for Pilates?"
- Memberships: "What's my retention rate on the monthly membership?" or "How many active subscriptions do I have by plan?"
- Marketing: "How did my intro offers perform last month?" or "Which staff member has the highest fill rate?"
You can also ask follow-up questions in the same chat to drill deeper. For example, after asking about revenue last quarter, you might follow up with "Now break it down by offering type" or "How does that compare to the quarter before?"
What Sprout shows you
Depending on your question, Sprout responds with:
- A short written answer summarizing what your data shows
- A chart when a visual makes the answer easier to understand
- A table with the underlying numbers, which you can download
- Suggested follow-up questions to help you explore further
If a question is ambiguous or your data doesn't fully support an answer, Sprout will tell you what assumptions it made or what's missing.
Tips for better answers
- Be specific about time windows. "Revenue last month" works better than just "revenue."
- Use names from your account. If you have an offering called "Beginner Yoga," ask about it by name rather than describing it.
- Ask one thing at a time. Sprout handles follow-ups well, so it's often easier to ask a focused question and then drill in than to ask a long, multi-part question.
- If an answer looks off, give it a thumbs down. You'll be asked for a quick reason, which helps the team improve Sprout.
Saving and revisiting chats
Every conversation is saved to your Recent Chats sidebar. You can:
- Pin a chat to keep it at the top — useful for reports you check regularly
- Hover over a chat title to see the full title
- Start a new chat anytime using the "+ New Question" button
How Sprout credits work with Ask Sprout
Ask Sprout uses Sprout credits — the same credits that power all of OfferingTree's AI features, including AI-assisted page building and other AI agent interactions.
Each question you ask Sprout uses a small number of credits. Simple lookups use fewer; more complex questions that involve multiple calculations or larger date ranges use more. Your current usage is shown at the bottom of the Ask Sprout page (for example, "You've used 29% of your Sprout credits").
A few things to know:
- Credits are shared across all AI features. Using Ask Sprout draws from the same monthly pool as other AI tools in OfferingTree.
- Credits reset monthly at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over.
- Need more? You can purchase add-on credit tiers that stack on top of your plan's monthly allowance.
For full details on credit allowances by plan, add-on pricing, and how credits work across all AI features, see What are Sprout AI credits?
Our commitment to responsible AI
Ask Sprout is built in line with OfferingTree's broader approach to AI. A few principles worth highlighting:
- Your data is not used to train AI models. Your business data — clients, revenue, schedules, conversations with Sprout — stays yours.
- Human review for quality and safety. Conversations with Sprout may occasionally be reviewed by our team to troubleshoot issues and improve the experience. This is for quality and safety, not for training AI.
- You stay in control. Every AI feature in OfferingTree is optional. Sprout is here to help you find answers faster — not to make decisions for you.
- We're transparent about limits. Sprout is good at answering questions about your data, but it's not infallible. We'll continue to be upfront about what it does well and where it falls short.
For our full approach to AI, see our AI Code of Ethics.
